Coach Stashis' time with student athletes in Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Basketball and Softball resulted in many opportunities to learn about guiding students towards their goals and even to assist in creating those goals. While Sue coached, her Field Hockey team at Cherry Hill West won the New Jersey Division IV State Championship. She values the memories and the continuing contacts with former students and their parents as much as any of the many honors and awards given to her. Among those honors were appointments to the Temple University Hall of Fame, the Al Carino Basketball Hall of Fame, and the South Jersey Hall of Fame in 1991. The Distinguished Coaching Award - 1959-1968 was conferred by Hockey Club of South Jersey and the Courier Post. Sue is a member of the Women's Officials Board in: Hockey, Basketball, Lacrosse and Softball; the South Jersey Women Coaches' Association, and the United States Women's Lacrosse Association and has held top offices in many other associations such as the Southern Conference New Jersey Physical Education Association and the Delaware Valley Girls' Sports League. As a student, Sue earned her BA and M. Ed. from Temple University and followed that by earning Pupil Personnel Services Certification from Glassboro State College and Secondary School Principal Certification from Jersey City State. In addition to coaching youngsters in selecting a college, Sue still teaches "Behind the Wheel" as a Driver's Education instructor. You can read more about Sue by clicking this link.
